Refund Policy

HowDi's current business model does not charge clients for coaching sessions. We only collect subscription fees from coaches who choose to opt into our paid membership. This page explains how coach subscriptions, billing, cancellations and refunds work.

Coach subscription — overview

  • Price: $9.97 per month.
  • Trial: The first month is free for any coach who opts in. After the free month, billing begins at $9.97 per month.
  • Opt-in: Coaches must explicitly opt in to the paid membership to be charged; coaches who do not opt in remain on the free tier.

Billing and billing cycle

  • Billing occurs monthly on the anniversary of the first paid charge (the free trial month does not charge). For example, if a coach's paid billing starts on June 10, subsequent charges occur on the 10th of each month.
  • We bill the coach's selected payment method (card, UPI, or supported local method) using the payment provider configured on the platform.

Cancellation and refunds (coach subscriptions)

  • Cancellation: Coaches may cancel their paid membership at any time from their account settings.
  • Immediate downgrade: When a coach cancels, their account immediately reverts to the free tier — they will lose access to paid features after cancellation but remain an active free coach.
  • Refund at cancellation: If a coach cancels during a paid billing period (after the free trial), the full amount paid for the current month will be refunded in full (100% refundable for that billing month).

Examples:

  • Coach A opts in and is given a 1-month free trial. After the free month, Coach A is charged $9.97. If Coach A cancels later that same billing month, we will refund $9.97 for that month.
  • Coach B opts in and is charged on the 1st of the month. Coach B cancels on the 20th — the $9.97 charged on the 1st will be refunded.

Refund process and timing

  • Refunds are processed promptly after a valid cancellation request. Refunds are typically issued to the original payment method within 3-7 business days, though the exact time depends on the coach's bank or payment provider.
  • Refunds are idempotent and tied to the payment transaction ID — duplicate refunds will be prevented automatically.

Exceptions and disputes

  • Exceptional situations (fraud, chargebacks, payment provider disputes) will be handled case-by-case by HowDi support. We reserve the right to investigate and make adjustments for abuse or unusual activity.

Taxes and fees

  • Any taxes, duties or levies required by local law may be applied at checkout or added to the invoice according to applicable rules. Processing fees charged by the payment provider may be deducted from the refunded amount depending on provider policies. HowDi will disclose any such fees where applicable.

  • We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
